We have resolved the encoding slowdowns in the us-central1 region by switching to a new instance type. New encoding jobs are now processing at normal speeds again.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely, but no further impact is expected at this time.

Monitoring
We are currently experiencing slower than normal encoding processing in the us-central1 region. This is caused by a temporary exhaustion of Spot instance capacity on Google Cloud, which prevents us from scaling up additional encoding workers.
At this time, encoding jobs are still progressing, but at reduced throughput. Once Google Cloud capacity becomes available again, encodings will automatically resume at full speed.
We recommend customers switch to another Google Cloud region outside of us-central1 if possible to avoid this issue.
